What does “The Happiest Photo” mean?
It doesn’t mean pretending everything is happy.
Life is far more interesting than that.
The name represents the photographs we hold onto because of what they mean - the people in them, the chapter they captured, the person we were then or perhaps the person we were becoming.
Sometimes the happiest photograph is joyful.
Sometimes it’s sentimental.
Sometimes it becomes important only years later.
And sometimes it simply gives someone a chance to look at themselves and think:
Maybe I like that person.
That feels worth photographing.
Who am I?
Hi, I’m Chris.
My career has taken a slightly unconventional route.
I’ve worked in hospitality, guest experience, corporate digital strategy, marketing and photography. I’m also a former Walt Disney World Cast Member, where I worked as an Attractions Host and earned the opportunity to become a trainer.
Different jobs. Different industries.
But there has been one fairly consistent theme throughout all of them:
People.
Understanding them. Helping them. Creating experiences for them. Finding ways to make something complicated feel a little easier, warmer or more memorable.
Photography eventually became another way of doing exactly that.
Today, The Happiest Photo brings those parts of my life together - creativity, storytelling, guest experience and a growing desire to create work that has a positive impact beyond the photograph itself.
